Our client, a market leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a Plant HR Manager, based in Long Beach, CA to establish an HR business partnering capability across 4 plants on the West Coast, inclusive of a facility based in British Columbia, Canada. This role will ideally be based in Long Beach, CA and will work onsite with travel throughout the region on a regular basis. This is an individual contributor role. The employee population across the 4 facilities is ~150-160, with a large hourly population. 3 of the 4 facilities are covered under collective bargaining agreements.
This role will report to a Director, HRBP who is based on the East Coast. The ability to support the business across the West Coast region autonomously is critical for success in this role, as is knowledge of California employment laws. Experience working with a unionized workforce is required. The business has strong support from executive leadership to drive an HR business partnering capability and our client is seeking individuals who are can build credible relationships with the business to educate and evolve the regional leadership's appreciation. Our client is seeking candidates with 3+ years of HR functional management expertise ideally gained within a multi-plant environment. Experience with health and safety is a top priority for this role, as our client is seeking to create both a safe working environment, that is people-centric and progressive.
