Our client is a leading law firm headquartered in New York. With more than 50 offices worldwide, they provide legal services in more than 170 countries. To continue to develop their presence in Germany and Switzerland, they are looking to hire an;

HR Manager, Germany & Switzerland (m/f/d)



This role is based in Frankfurt, however occasional trips to Zurich will also be required. The HR Manager will join the EMEA Human Resources team and be responsible for all aspects of HR for their Frankfurt and Zurich offices. This role reports into the EMEA HR Director based in London and will work closely with the Partners and leadership of both practices. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional as they will be dealing with a diverse array of HR matters, will help advise on change and transformation initiatives and will engage broadly with various employee relations topics.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all aspects of HR activities for the Frankfurt and Zurich offices
  • Be a trusted advisor for the different stakeholders such as management and the partnership
  • Managing employee relationships, responding to any queries and managing expectations
  • Work together with the broader EMEA Human Resources team, to ensure consistency of policies, processes and best practices
  • Conduct and organise trainings, identify training needs and leverage the global HR network to provide appropriate training sessions
  • Work closely with the EMEA HR Director and Total Rewards Centre of Expertise regarding Compensation & Benefits topics (annual salary review, benchmarking, ensuring competitive practices, etc.)
  • Take part in the recruitment process in collaboration with the EMEA Recruitment Team
  • Responsible for HR administrative tasks along the employee life cycle in close collaboration with the HR Support team, preparation of payroll in collaboration with accountants and Finance department
  • Accountable for ad hoc tasks and projects when necessary under direction from the EMEA HR Director

Candidate profile

  • You hold a University degree in the field of Human Resources or similar
  • You have extensive experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager within the professional services sector
  • You are able to work as part of a wider EMEA HR team, as well as autonomously
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills
  • Deep knowledge of German employment law and ideally, of the Swiss one as well
  • Fluency in both German and English is mandatory
