I am delighted to be supporting a key association that works with electrotechnical and engineering design businesses across the UK to appoint a Head of Employee Relations to join the Employment and Skills team.
As Head of Employee Relations you will take on the principal responsibility for successful delivery of the associations collective and individual employment relations (ER) service to member businesses. With over 2700 firms as part of the membership community you will manage the outsourced delivery of a ER team that collect majority of ER cases and you will only be involved in high level and complex employee relations. You will work closely with senior leaders both internally and externally focused across the unions and the Joint Industry Board to make sure all members are protected, educated and supported within the engineering and electrotechnical space.
You will be the first point of call for all discussions on pay negotiations, joint consultations around the general member community. You will host and support members in forums that include union representation to keep members up to date with new or changing policies taking from them their insights and views. This role reports to the Director of Employment and Skills and you will have the opportunity to support him on creating and driving new initiatives and ideas to grow employability, skills and competencies.
To be successful in this position you will have extensive employee relations experience and will have worked with Unions and outside organisations. You will have worked on complex ER and have past experience in volume ER. Although not industry specific you will have worked in a environment where Unions are present and have a good understanding if not working knowledge of membership bodies, associations or regulatory bodies. Lastly you will be collaborative, and excellent communicator and will be commercially aware and pragmatic.
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000
