I am supporting a private equity backed learning and technology business and their recently appointed CPO in hiring two critical roles. The organisation is the result of an ambitious buy and build strategy and having assembled a group of 6 specialist brands the organisations is now looking to build an HR function to reflect their global footprint and growth plans. Headcount is not a key factor, they currently employ circa 300 staff based in 8 countries, however the nature of their business means they deploy both staff and technology to remote and at times challenging locations.
Off the back of appointing a number of new senior leadership roles the organisation is now looking to invest in these key hires.
The Global Head of Talent Management will be responsible for developing and retaining talent. The organisation does not envisage significant headcount growth, as such this role is focussed on setting up an internal global talent development strategy. You will drive workforce planning, better utilisation of data, talent assessment and succession planning as well as enabling internal mobility and career planning. You will deploy organisation design and effectiveness as the business continue to develop and mature their new target operating model. You will act as a coach to the leadership team supporting to promote an agile and high-performance culture. The role will be an individual contributor however you will look to source and manage external providers where appropriate.
Prior experience of operating as a talent management specialist in a start up and/or private equity backed businesses is key. You will have worked in a complex multisite environment, however experience in Northern Europe would be particularly of interest. You may have worked in an established business however be attracted to working in a more agile/build role as you will need to be able to demonstrate a hands on approach and an eagerness to drive innovation. The ability to demonstrate examples of designing and developing innovative learning solutions to a globally dispersed business will be particularly valuable. You will be comfortable working in a highly analytical and data focused environment. The HR function will consist of circa 5 colleagues and therefore a collaborative approach to work and excellent communication skills will be essential.
